There are several new grant schemes aimed at building digital capacity for cultural organizations – thanks to Canada Council for the Arts and the Department of Canadian Heritage.
These grants provide an opportunity for cultural institutions to embrace digital innovation and transformation and to launch digital initiatives that benefit their organization, sector and communities.
Canada Council: Digital Generator Grant
Up to $40k
This stream of the grant is intended to identify the digital health of your organization(s) and determine a digital transformation roadmap. This stream supports hiring external consultants or experts to help you with the specialist knowledge or skills required.
Up to $50k (single group/organization) or up to $100k (collaborative project)
This stream is intended to implement the roadmap provided by external consultants from Stream 1. Eligible activities include implementing tools, solutions and strategies related to transforming your operations and/or business model.
Canada Council: Digital Greenhouse Grant
Up to $50K
This grant is intended to provide a positive impact throughout the sector by leveraging digital technology to address sectoral and digital challenges.
Canadian Heritage: Digital Access to Heritage – Museums Assistance Program
Deadline: March 1, 2022
The Digital Access to Heritage component of the Museums Assistance Program (MAP) provides funding to heritage organizations to digitize collections, develop digital content and build their capacity in these areas.
