Culture brought to life for blind and visually impaired people

VocalEyes help arts and heritage organizations identify and remove barriers to access and inclusion for blind and partially sighted people. They deliver around 160-180 live audio-described performances in theatres every year, and provide a range of supporting services to cultural organizations.

The main challenge with the redesign of the site was to present the content in an accessible way for blind and partially sighted users, whilst maintaining an excellent user experience for audiences from arts venues, charitable bodies and the general public. Also of key importance was providing a flexible open source content management solution, enabling VocalEyes to be autonomous in their editing roles.
